Goodbye, KC Mobile DJ

It's been a nice ride, old friend.

KC Mobile DJ started as a single, hobbyist DJ in 2006 and we have since earned our spot among the top 5% of wedding DJs by winning WeddingWire's COUPLE'S CHOICE award twice in a row, The Knot's BEST OF WEDDINGS award twice in a row. Been named one of the top 12 DJ companies in Kansas City by Expertise and we've grown to offer 5 professionally trained DJs/MCs, 2 touch-screen photo booths, 2 photographers, videography, coordinating and wedding officiating.

Our clients bring us to Alaska, Florida and many places in between to make sure their day is done right. We want to continue to expand into other markets, so while our heart will always be in KC, we felt it was time to drop the "KC" part of our name. We offer more than just DJ services, so the "DJ" part of our name didn't feel quite right to keep either.

Ten dollars off your booking if you can tell me which movie that song is from!

Levity [ˈlevədē] - To make light-hearted.

Wedding and event planning can be and usually is a serious and stressful job. We have always tried to inject a bit of light-hearted levity into the process to make it more enjoyable.

With the new name, we'll be rolling out a new website and brand in the coming weeks. If you're a current client, don't worry - all your data, timelines, and song lists will be saved and it will be a seamless transition. You'll simply see new logos when you log in.

Same great people . Same great service . Same competitive prices .
New fancy name . New fancy logo . New and exciting adventures on the horizon .

Thank you for your support of KC Mobile DJ/ Levity Weddings & Events

For most couples we work with, this is the only time they've ever planned a wedding, so creating the best wedding reception timeline isn't something they've usually done before. If you've hired a coordinator, or a kick-ass photographer - they'll probably help build a general wedding timeline for the entire day, with a major focus on the ceremony. If you'd ask our opinion about wedding CEREMONY timelines, we'd most likely respond with Clark Gable's infamous catchphrase.

First things first, we're the realist. Not everyone wants a DJ or band at their wedding... but what's the point of getting married without music? Thus, the MP3 player wedding was borne.

Weddings are stressful. There is no question about that, but by having a wedding planner, you have an advocate working on your behalf to put out fires and get stuff done.

Last week, Becca and Kaye fired shots at DJs and we let them tear us apart, then build us back up in “6 things your photographer notices about your DJ.” This week, DJs fire back and delve into the 7 (positive and negative) things they notice most about photographers.
